Test Tube Baby

A major part of the twentieth century was swayed away with the idea of enjoying a sexual relationship without the tension of having offspring. Days changed with a change in concept and at a time people started to have children without getting sexually involved. This was eventually possible with the help of In Vitro Fertilization techniques and Cloning.

Science is sometimes a controversial issue. The scientific processes of having contraceptives and abortion bring about fatal consequences and ensures increased infant death rate. On the other hand the method of having a test tube baby though non-natural but brings with it the happiness and enjoyment associated with the arrival of a new life.

The IVF treatment takes place in a kind of circumstance when under a specific laboratory temperature and environment a woman’s egg and a husband’s sperm are exposed to each other to promote fertilization and the birth of a new life. The first test tube baby was born in July of 1978 at Bourne Hall in Cambridge, England.

The gradually occurring steps under the IVF treatment are
1. The ovum or egg being taken from the mother’s ovary.
2. The ovum is then placed with the husband’s sperm in a laboratory test tube.
3. After two or three days the fertilized egg is transferred to the uterus of the mother.
4. After the completion of nine month the healthy glowing face of the newborn test tube baby brings smile on all faces.

The cases where the IVF treatment proves to be successful and beneficial include
1. Women who have problem in their uterus: Endometriosis, polyps, malformations, and amenorrhea.
2. Women having problems in their ovaries.
3. Females having complication in the fallopian tubes, or tubal ligation.
4. At times various genetic diseases result in miscarriage or abnormal births.
5. Males with vasectomy or problems in their tubes due to infections, tumors, scars, or congenital.
6. A person with low sperm counts or motility.

Under such circumstances the only solution is to have a test tube baby and get rid from the curse of being infertile and unproductive.
